2 leopards strike Rajouri village, kill 12 goats

RAJOURI, Nov 20: Two leopards struck Simbal Ghai  hamlet near village Muradpur in district Rajouri last night and killed 12 goats and a dog of a farmer.
A police spokesman said that two leopards barged into the cattle shed of one Mukhtar Hussain at Simbal Ghai Morha at around 9.30 pm last night and started killing and eating farmer’s goats and sheep. They also killed  his dog who showed resistance during attack. The villager and his brother Yaqoob along with other family members rushed with Mashals and  lathis and the leopards then escaped to nearby forest. Their 12 goats were killed and four other cattle were missing. They narrated the matter to police in the morning. The police took up the matter with Wild Life Department.
