2 LeT associates held in Budgam

Srinagar, Aug 22: Police today arrested two Lashkar-e-Toiba militant associates in Budgam district.
A Police official said that police along with 50 RR of Army and 181 Battalion of CRPF arrested two militant associates of LeT in Budgam.
A police spokesman said incriminating materials of Lashkar-e-Toiba and two AK magazines and 54 AK rounds were recovered from their possession.
The arrested militant associates have been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Aziz Bhat resident of Kralpora and Sameer Ahmad Najar son of Gulam Ahmad resident of Gund Chekpora Kanipora.
He said both the arrested militant associates have been found involved in providing logistics and support to the active militant of LeT as well as transportation of arms and ammunition in Chadoora area of Budgam.
A case (FIR No.150/2022 under relevant Sections of law) stands registered at Police Station Chadoora. Investigation has been initiated.
In the meantime, two civilians were injured in a grenade attack on CRPF at Sangam in Anantnag district this evening.
A police official said militants lobbed a grenade on bunker of 136 Bn CRPF at Sangam.
However, the grenade missed the intended target and exploded on roadside. In this incident, two civilians recieved minor splinter injuries, the officer said.
They have been identified as Amir Ahmad Lone son of Mohd Abdullah and Shakeel Ahmad Lone, both residents of Sangam.
The area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
