2 LeT militants arrested in Budgam

Srinagar, Mar 28: Police today arrested two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants in Budgam district.
An official said that Budgam Police along with 62RR of Army arrested two militants of LeT from Sunnergund area of Budgam.

They have been identified as Waseem Ahmad Ganai son of Shahzad Ahmad Ganai, resident of Ramnagri Shopian & Iqbal Ashraf Sheikh son of Mohammed Ashraf Sheikh, resident of Sedow Shopian.
“Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including a Chinese Pistol, two pistol magazines, 12 pistol rounds and 32 AK-47 rounds have been recovered from their possession,” he said.
A case (FIR number 87/2022 under relevant sections of law) has been registered at Police Station Budgam and further investigation into the matter is in progress.
In the meantime, militants today hurled a grenade on SOG camp at Imam Sahib area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district. However, no one loss of life or injury was reported.
The area was cordoned off to nab the fleeing militants.
