Srinagar : Two militants of Hizbul Mujahideen were killed at Naina village in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district in an overnight gun battle.
Police said that a gun battle that raged between militants and the joint team of army and police at Naina in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district last night ended this morning and two militants were killed.
Acting on a specific information about the presence of 2-3 militants including Hizbul Mujahideen Commander at Naina village, Army’s 55 RR, 183 CRPF and SOG cordoned off the village last evening.
As the security forces intensified the searches and fired few probing shots, militants hiding in the area tried to break the cordoned and run away. They fired indiscriminately at the security forces.
Security forces cordoned off the whole area and sealed all the entry and exit points in the area to prevent the militants from fleeing.
The intense gun battle raged this morning again in which both the militants were killed. One of them has been identified as Shakir.
