JAMMU, Dec 7: Two minor sisters hailing from Kahuta area of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), who had inadvertently crossed over to this side of the LoC yesterday, were handed over to Pakistani authorities at Chakkan-da-Bagh in Poonch today.
Official sources said that these girls were detained by the security forces after they crossed over to this side of the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar area of district Poonch during morning on December 6, 2020.

Identified as Laiba Zabair (17 years) and Sana Zabair (13 yrs), residents of village Abbasspur, Tehsil Forward Kahuta in POK, these sisters had inadvertently crossed into Indian side from Mendhar Sector in the morning hours, sources added.
The Indian troops deployed along the Line of Control, detected the girls crossing over to this side and exercised complete restraint to prevent any harm to them. The Army had later handed over these girls to local police.
The girls later in statement to police revealed that their father passed away hardly 15 days ago and their brother forcibly wanted to get them married, which they don’t want. That is why they have crossed over to the Indian side.
The District Administration Poonch established contact with PoK authorities at Rawlakote and Kahuta in PoK and today, the girls along with some gifts were handed over to Pakistani authorities. Three Indian officials along with a Ist Class Magistrate and a doctor also accompanied the girls while handing over them to Pak officials at Chakkan-da-Bagh this afternoon.
