UDHAMPUR, Jan 28: In two separate road accidents at Majalta, a 7-year old child was knocked to death by a rashly driven truck while a pillion rider was killed and motorcyclist along with another pillion rider sustained critical injuries when their bike was run over by a tractor after hitting a stranded minibus.
The deceased pillion rider has been identified as Rohan Kumar (15), son of Guddi Ram, resident of village Sal in Majalta. The injured motorcyclist, identified as Praveen Kumar (16), son of Shobha Ram of Tanjor along with other pillion rider Vijay Kumar (18), son of Billu of Kalmha in Majalta were admitted to District Hospital Udhampur. Their condition was stated to be stable.
The accident took place around 2:50 PM when the speeding motorcycle lost control after hitting a stranded minibus and was run over by a Tractor (JK14G-1352) at village Raypar, Dhar road in Majalta.
Some locals shifted the injured persons to PHC Panara where doctors declared Rohan Kumar as brought dead and referred both the injured youth to District Hospital Udhampur.
Meanwhile, in another accident at village Panara in Majalta, 7-year old Kartik, son of Dharam Chand of Dhama was knocked to death by a truck bearing registration number JK08K-7382. Majalta Police has registered a case in this connection and arrested driver of the truck.
