DODA, June 18: Deputy Commissioner, Doda Vikas Sharma, today said that the district administration has laid prime focus on vaccination to address the long term effects of Covid-19.
Addressing media persons at the weekly presser, the DC said 72 percent 45 year and above persons have been inoculated and 9 sites have been established to vaccinate 18 years and above population.
To address the problem of vaccine hesitancy, religious heads have come forward in support of the administration to achieve cent percent saturation, especially in the age group of above 45 and high risk groups, said by the Deputy Commissioner.
With regard to Covid positive cases, the DC informed that in the start of this month the positivity rate was 7.7 percent which has now dipped to 3.3% with only 803 active cases in the district.
Regarding Oxygen availability the DC informed that in addition to the existing infrastructure additional 750 LPM OGP is ready for commissioning and the civil work on OGP at Gandoh has started. Besides, he said that 63 oxygen concentrators have been made available at newly created CC Centres.
“Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh has also provided 22 oxygen concentrators, in addition to other supplies to the district administration which have been put into use. Several NGOs are also coming forward to support the district administration in its fight against Covid-19 pandemic”, he informed further.
The DC informed that several measures are being taken to address the congestion in the public places post unlock, besides aggressive awareness campaign is also on with regard to Covid vaccination and implementation of SOPs across the district.
