2 motorcyclists killed, 2 injured in road accidents

KATHUA, Feb 16: Two persons were killed in two separate accidents in Kathua district since late last night.
According to police a motorcyclist was killed after his bike was hit by an unknown vehicle at Jammu -Pathankot National Highway near Barnoti late last night. The vehicle fled after the accident leaving the motorcyclist in pool of blood. He was shifted to District Hospital Kathua by police where he succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as Chuni Lal, S/O Kaka Ram of Jandor Patiadi , falling in district Kathua. His body was handed over to the family members after Postmortem this afternoon for cremation. Kathua police has registered a case under the relevant sections of the law.
In another road mishap which took place at Lassipur More on Jammu Pathankot National Highway this evening in which a motorcyclist was killed after his two wheeler was hit by by a Swift Dezire.
He was identified as Gurinder Singh/ S/o Harbajan Singh. He was shifted by Police to District Hospital Kathua where doctors declared him as brought dead. His body has been kept in DH Kathua where after conducting its postmortem it will be handed over to family members tomorrow. Kathua Police ahs registered a case in this regard.
Meanwhile two persons were injured in Samba district today after a Scorpio bearing number JK02AF 9666 hit a divider of the road at Dwarkapuri.
One person identified as Parma Nand 58, S/O Sadhu Ram of Swankha Morh who was on the other side of the divider was injured and another person who was on scooter bearing number JK02AC 2006 also fell down from the two wheeler suddenly and he too was injured as the car hit the divider. He has been identified as Karun, 23, S/O Nank Chand of Gurwal. Both the injured were shifted to Vijaypur Hospital for treatment.
