Srinagar, Mar 27: The Enforcement Wing of the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) today sealed 2 mutton shops for overpricing in district Srinagar and Budgam.
Officials told Excelsior that after complaints were received about the butchers selling mutton beyond the Government-set rates, the teams were deployed to the respective areas for ascertaining the facts.
During the inspection, officials said the butchers were seen selling the mutton on rates in violation of the Government orders.
Officials said that both the shops have been sealed and further course of action will follow in this regard. They also appealed to the general public to report such violations to the department.
It is to be mentioned here that during March, a total of 45 establishments have been sealed in district Srinagar which is the highest across Kashmir division, while a total of 66 establishments have been sealed across 10 Kashmir.
