UDHAMPUR, Aug 5: Police today arrested two narcotic smugglers from Tikri area and seized 18.54 grams of heroin from their possession.
Police said that team from Police Post Tikri, while performing routine naka checking, stopped a Maruti Swift Dzire vehicle bearing registration number JK01AV-3198 for checking purpose.
On frisking, approximately 18.54 grams of heroin like contraband substance was recovered from the possession of driver namely Irfan Ahmed Mir, son of Ghulam Mohi ud din Mir, resident of Gulab Bagh, Srinagar and co-driver namely Furkan Riyaz Wani, son of Riyan Ahmed Wani, resident of Gulab Bagh, Zakura, Srinagar. Both the accused persons were arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a a case vide FIR number 173/2024, under section 8/21/22/ NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal.
