UDHAMPUR, June 27: Police arrested two narco smugglers from Tikri and seized heroin like substance from their possession, here today.
Police team from Police Post Tikri, led by SHO Police Station Rehambal Nishad Ahmed, and assisted by IC PP Tikri, intercepted a Swift Dzire car bearing registration number JK01AU-4243 for checking purpose.
On frisking of the car and another person in the car, approximately 21 grams of heroin like contraband substance was recovered from their possession. Both of them were arrested on the spot while the recovered heroin was seized.
They were identified as Zahoor Ahmed (driver), son of Abdul Aziz and Nasir Manzoor, son of Manzoor Ahmed, both resident of Nawata Rainwari, Srinagar.
In this connection, a case vide FIR number 157/2024, under section 8/21/22/ NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Rehambal and further investigation was set into motion.
