RAJOURI, Nov 14: Continuing its drive against drug peddlers, the police arrested two narcotic smugglers and recovered a consignment of charas from their possession in Poonch area last night.
Those arrested were identified as Mohd Taleem, son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Potha, Tehsil Surankote and Abdul Rashid, son of Mohd Zaman from Banpat, in Tehsil Haveli of district Poonch. During their frisking the police recovered about 70 grams of charas from their possession, at a Naka in Purani Poonch area last night.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 197/2023 U/S 8/20/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Poonch and investigation of the case has been taken up.
The recovery was made by team comprising PSI Arwinder Singh and HC Mohd Latief headed by SHO Poonch, Insp Deepak Pathania.
