2 peddlers arrested in Baramulla, Kulgam

Srinagar, Mar 2: Police today arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and Kulgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Baramulla, authorities reported that a police party from Police Post Delina, led by IC PP Delina under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla, intercepted an individual at a checkpoint established at Delina Marke.
“During the search, 72 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus, a psychotropic substance, were recovered from his possession,” the police stated.
The individual has been identified as Aqib Nazir Malik, son of Nazir Ahmad Malik, resident of Sangrama Sopore. “He has been arrested and shifted to PS Baramulla where he remains in custody.”
In Kulgam, authorities stated that a police party led by the SHO of Police Station Qazigund, at a checkpoint established at Dalwach crossing, intercepted a suspected individual identified as Mohammad Ramzan Lone, son of Wali Mohd Lone, resident of Hawoora, who attempted to flee but was tactfully apprehended.
“During the search, 4 kgs of poppy straw-like substance filled in a nylon bag was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody,” the police said.
Accordingly, the police stated that cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered at the respective police stations, and investigations have been initiated.
