2 pilgrims robbed off their cash, mobiles at Mata Vaishno Devi

REASI, Oct 8: Two Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims hailing from Bihar were robbed off their cash and two mobile phones near Bhawan in Katra area of district Reasi today.
An official spokesman said that pilgrims Arun Kumar, son of Sham Lal Chourasiya, resident of Kargarh, Rohtas Bihar and Mithlesh Singh, son of Bhagwan Singh, hailing from Samhuta, Kaimur Bihar had gone to Mata Vaishno Devi for performing Darshan. They went to the Bathing Ghat before Darshan in the morning. They kept their clothes and other belongings in the bag before bathing. When they started putting on clothes after bath, they found that their two mobile phones and Rs 15,000 cash were missing.
They rushed to the nearby Police Station at Bhawan and lodged an FIR No. 9/2018 with the Station House Officer, Insp Arun Singh. The police team under the supervision of DySP Bhawan, Sat Paul Modi started investigation and managed to trap the robber from Battery Car point within few hours of the incident.
She was identified as Gurpreet Kour (27), wife of Jaspal Singh, resident of Majeetha Road, Amritsar. The stolen mobile phones and Rs 15,000 cash was also recovered from her possession. She was put behind the bars and will be produced in the court tomorrow, a police official said.
