2 PoK guests arrive in Kashmir; 5 Kashmiris cross to other side of LoC

SRINAGAR: Only two guests from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here while five Kashmiris crossed over to other side of Line of Control (LoC) in the weekly Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad.

Twenty returnees also crossed sides at the Kaman Post, in Uri sector, official sources told UNI this afternoon. They said two PoK residents arrived at Kaman Post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge, on foot to meet their relatives, separated in 1947.

Eleven Kashmiris, who had gone to the PoK, also returned to their homes after completing their stay across the LoC. They included five women and a child. They said five Kashmiris, including two women, crossed over to the other side. Meanwhile, nine PoK residents returned to his homes in the bus.

Last week, the highest number of 22 Kashmiris, during this winter, travel to PoK to meet their relatives in the Karvan-e-Aman bus started on April 7, 2005. They said the number of PoK guests goes down during harsh winters here while it increases during summer when weather is pleasant in Kashmir. (AGENCIES)
