The order, issued recently, aims to curb potential risks associated with their continued involvement in non-institutional medical services. According to Order, Dr Pawan Kumar, Consultant Anesthesia at CHC Ramgarh, and Dr Mohan Lal Attri, Consultant Surgeon at CHC R S Pura, are prohibited from engaging in private practice. The order also includes a penalty of withholding one increment for both doctors as a consequence of their actions.
In addition to the ban, the Government has ordered the immediate transfer of Dr Pawan Kumar to SDH Paddar (Kishtwar) and Dr Mohan Lal Attri to CHC Gandoh. The decision has been taken to ensure adherence to institutional responsibilities and to prevent any adverse impact on public healthcare services.
This development comes in the wake of growing concerns over private practice by Government doctors affecting public healthcare services. The Government’s move is seen as a step towards ensuring that doctors focus solely on their institutional duties, enhancing the quality of care provided in public health institutions.
