2 shops gutted in Surankote

POONCH, June 5: Two shops were completely damaged in a devastating fire in the main market of Surankote  town this afternoon.
Reports said that fire started from the cotton shop  cum-spinning mill of Nassir and then it spread to the nearby Karyana shop at around 2.15 pm.  The people rushed  for the rescue and informed police and Fire Service Station staff. The tenders arrived about one hour late as there was no driver and in-charge Fire Station available at the station. Later,  Army unit  jawans joined civilians in rescue operation.  The loss of property was being assessed. With the timely action by Army, the other shops were saved from damage.
