2 smugglers arrested, 4 bovine rescued

SAMBA, June 24: District Police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing four animals and arresting two bovine smugglers in two separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
A police party of PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty near Naka Tapyal, NHW Ghagwal, intercepted load carrier Auto bearing Registration No. JK02CW/7526 for checking.
During checking of the vehicle, two bovines were found laden inside it without any permission and were tied in a cruel manner.
The driver of the vehicle namely Mohd Arif, son of Gulam Rasool of Baran, tehsil Kot Bhalwal district Jammu has been arrested.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 95/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered in Police Station, Ghagwal.
In an another case , a police party of PS Ghagwal rescued two bovines at Naka Tapyal, NHW Ghagwal which were being transported illegally in a Tata Mobile bearing Registration No. JK11F/3474. The police seized the vehicle and arrested the driver Mohd Safil, son of MohdAzam of Badhoon tehsil and district Rajouri.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 96/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to a safer place. The vehicles used for transporting the bovines were also seized.
