UDHAMPUR, Mar 30: The police arrested two narcotic smugglers and recovered 11.5 gms of contraband substance (heroin) from their possession here today.
Giving details, Rajiv Pandey, SSP Udhampur said that a police party led by SHO Udhampur Vijay Choudhary laid a naka at Circular Road, Udhampur for checking of vehicles.
During checking, police party stopped one person at naka point. During checking of this person namely, Mohd Irfan, son of Mohd Ayub of Sallian Talab Udhampur, 6.5 grms of heroin was recovered by police from his possession. The accused was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 126/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered.
In another case, same police party nabbed one person and recovered 05 gms of heroin (Chitta) from his possession. He was identified as Mohd Rafeeq, son of Mohd Yousaf of Latti Kheri, in Udhampur. He was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 125/19 U/S 8/121/22 NDPS Act has been registered against him.
