KATHUA, June 16: A teenager committed suicide in village Changran of Kathua district late last night by hanging himself with a tree in the village.
Police said during the intervening night of 15 and 16 June a teenager namely, Rohit Kumar, 17, S/o Ram Chand of Changran Kathua hanged himself from a tree in his field. A team of Police Station, Kathua rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to GMC Kathua. Further investigation is going on in this regard.
Police said that, frustrated after declaration of result of 10th class, after he was declared fail, the boy committed suicide. The local people noticed his dead body on a tree just one kilometer away from his residence at village Changran. The police took the body to GMC Kathua for postmortem. Kathua police registered a case under Section 174 and started investigation into the matter. The body was handed over to family after postmortem for last rites.
In another incident a 16 year old boy committed suicide in village Bandral in Ramgarh Sector of Samba district today. He has been identified as Amandeep Singh, son of Bodh Singh. He also hanged himself with a tree in outer fields of the village. The police said that he had got low marks in 10 class examination the results of which were declared yesterday.
The Ramgarh police took the body into its custody and later brought it to CHC Ramgarh for postmortem. The police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law.
