JAMMU, Dec 23: Two Pakistani terrorists were killed and two others injured when the troops foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Khour sector of Akhnoor area in the early hours of this morning.
Officials said troops observed movement of four terrorists through CCTV cameras in a forward area of LoC in Khour sector in wee hours today. They were trying to sneak into the Indian territory with full backing of the Pakistani troops along with arms, ammunition and explosives.
Pakistan army had set wild grass on fire near their post to blind Indian surveillance system on the LoC. However, the sophisticated devices picked up movement of infiltrating terrorists as well as activities of the enemy troops.
“As the terrorists reached close, the Army personnel opened firing in which one terrorist was killed while three others were injured. The injured terrorists were seen fleeing back to Pakistan along with body of the terrorist and consignment of weapons,” the officials said, adding the reports revealed that one of the injured terrorists succumbed to wounds due to excess bleeding and lack of treatment on the Pakistani side.
The infiltration attempt was successfully scuttled, they added.

They said involvement of Pakistan army in the infiltration attempt was clearly visible as one of their posts was very close to the spot from where the terrorists were launched. Moreover, they used the same route to escape after the Army firing.
Army’s Jammu-based White Knight Corps said the suspected movement of terrorists was captured through surveillance devices during the intervening night of December 22 and 23.
“Effective fire brought down. Terrorists seen dragging one body back across the IB,” it posted on X.
A Defence spokesman shared a clip recorded on a surveillance device, showing four terrorists making an attempt to cross over into India from across the border under the cover of darkness.
The officials said the area was kept under a tight vigil and a search operation was launched with the first light of the day.
Blood stains confirmed the killing of the terrorist.
The operation was still underway when the reports last came in, they said.
Officials said the terrorists were planning to infiltrate to carry out terror strikes on security forces and civilians. And, for the purpose, they were bringing large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives with them which was visible on the CCTV cameras.
Already there have been reports that nearly 30 terrorists are active in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
