JAMMU, Nov 4: Nine people, including two Vaishno Devi pilgrims, suffered injuries in separate road accidents in Jammu district today.
A police official said that two Vaishno Devi pilgrims identified as Nitesh Jain (35) son of Jai Kumar and Jatinder Hinduja (33) son of Gulab Chand Hinduja, both residents of Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, were injured when they were hit by an unknown vehicle near Jambu Zoo.
Initially, they were taken to Jagti Hospital, where after preliminary treatment; they were further referred to Government Medical College Jammu for advanced treatment, he said.
One Chanchla Devi (50) wife of Bodh Raj of KC Door Muthi, Jammu, suffered injuries when the matador she was travelling in was hit by a truck at Muthi, said the police official.
According to him, two persons identified as Samriti Gupta (40) wife of Pranav Arya of Rehari and Ruhi Mahajan (40) wife of Ganesh Malhotra of Bakshi Nagar, suffered injuries when the scooty they were riding on was hit by a car at Sarwal Chowk.
Two teenage boys, identified as Daksh (17) son of Rameshwar Puri and Rajat Singh (17) son of Surendra Singh, both residents of Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, were injured after their scooty fell down the flyover near MLA Hostel, Jammu, he said.
The police official further said that one Mangal Das (70) son of late Bithu Ram of Gho Manhasa, Jammu, suffered injuries near MIER College Jammu after he was hit by a car.
One Deepak Kumar (55) son of late Hari Ram of Janipur was taken to Government Medical College Jammu in injured condition after he was hit by a car near District Jail Ambphalla, added the police official.
He said separate cases under the relevant sections of the law have been registered at different police stations and further investigations taken up.
