RAJOURI, May 30: The police foiled a smuggling bid in Thannamandi area and seized two vehicles loaded with 12 bovine animals last night.
Official sources said that a police party headed by SHO Thannamandi Inspector, Nazir Ahmed Dar during naka last night, intercepted two vehicles loaded with bovine animals heading towards Kashmir.
The police arrested two persons Mohd Shakeel, son of Hakim Din, resident of Khablan and Ajaz Ahmed, son of Sulah Mohd, resident of Lah and rescued 12 bovine animals from the clutches of smugglers. They also seized vehicles bearing Registration No. JK11B-8587 and JK11A-1880. A case was registered against the accused persons.
