REASI, Sept 19: Continuing its drive ‘Ek Yudh Nashe Ke Virudh’ under SSP Shailender Singh, District Police Reasi arrested two women drug peddlers and recovered 2.75 kgs of cannabis from their possession.
The accused women were apprehended during surprise Naka checking at Police Check Post Nomain. Accused Rekha Devi, wife of Subash Chander, resident of Railway Road, Kun-Daroorian Katra and Maya Mir, wife of Anwar Mir, resident of Railway road Katra, were walking from Domail towards Katra when Police stopped then for frisking.
Both the women were carrying black coloured bags. During checking, Police party recovered 850 gms cannabis like substance from the bag being carried by Rekha Devi and 1.9 Kg cannabis from the bag of other accused Maya Mir. A total of 2.75 Kg narcotic substance was recovered from their possession.
In this regard, a case FIR number 205/2021, under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and the investigations has been initiated to unearth linkages in this drug peddling.
