2 yrs imprisonment to tanker driver for causing death due to rash driving

JAMMU, Sept 28: The Excise Magistrate Jammu has awarded 2 years imprisonment to tanker driver Anupam Bhardwaj of Thathri, who was facing trial for the last 14 years for causing death of a bicycle rider Munna, son of Prem Shah of Prem Nagar in Talab Tillo area due to rash driving.
After hearing Senior PO Jatinder Anand for the State, the court observed, “prosecution has proved the charge of offence under Section 304-A RPC. So the accused is convicted for the offence”.
Accordingly, court awarded simple imprisonment of two year and fine of Rs 5000.
