2 yrs RI to two CRPF officials in trap case

JAMMU, Dec 4: Special Judge Anticorruption (CBI Cases), Kaneez Fatima today awarded two years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 each to Krishan Kumar and Baleshwar Panday of CRPF, who were caught red-handed by the CBI team on September 17, 2005 while accepting bribe of Rs 20000 from the complainant for selecting him in CRPF as constable on September 17, 2005.
After hearing Senior Public Prosecutor SK Bhat for the CBI whereas Advocates OP Sharma and KK Sharma for the accused persons, Special Judge Anticorruption observed, “prosecution has succeeded in establishing demand and acceptance of bribe by the accused persons”.
Accordingly, the Court awarded two years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 on each count and directed that the amount of fine be deposited within 20 days from today failing which the same will be realized from the estates of the accused person.
