JAMMU, Nov 7: Jammu district administration has started analyzing the revenue and other papers of 20 banquet halls situated on Jammu-Akhnoor and Jammu-Talab Tillo roads to ascertain any violation of land laws and building permissions.
The decision has been taken in view of continuous and massive traffic jamming being caused on these roads due to these banquet halls having very less space for parking of vehicles.
Sources said that Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh has directed the field functionaries of the Revenue Department to examine the revenue and other papers of 13 banquet halls situated on Jammu-Akhnoor road and 7 on Jammu-Talab Tillo road.
The Revenue Department officials will minutely examine the revenue papers of the land on which these banquet halls have been constructed to ascertain any violation of land laws. Similarly, they in consultation with the concerned authorities of Jammu Municipal Corporation will ascertain whether the building permissions have strictly been adhered to by the owners of these banquet halls.
On the receipt of detailed information, the administration will decide future course of action.
