20 bikers on three-day visit to Bhaderwah to promote tourism

BHADERWAH, Dec 10: To promote tourism, 20 bikers from different adventure biking clubs are on a three day motorcycle rally to the Bhaderwah.
The adventure ride sponsored by Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA) was received by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr RP Khajuria at Tourist Reception Centre Sarna. After traversing through several markets of the town and tourist locations of Bhaderwah town and its peripheral areas, the bikers group will also tour high altitude meadows of Bhaderwah including Padri Gali on Bhaderwah-Chamba inter-state road, Chattar Gali pass on Bhaderwah-Basholi Road and Jai Ghati before returning back to Jammu via Patnitop.
“We are going to promote adventure tourism in a big way as this will surely help in making Bhaderwah all season tourist destination”, said Dr RP Khajuria, CEO BDA.
He informed that three day bike rally, which we received here was a part of promoting and attracting adventure lovers, which will be soon followed by a trekking camp and snow carnival. “We are hopeful that we will receive good number of visitors in winters as well, especially during and after snowfall”, CEO added saying that Bhaderwah is strategically located as it is interlinked with famous tourist destinations of Himachal Pradesh (HP) i.e Dalhousie and Khajair via Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate road and with Punjab via Bhaderwah-Basholi road.
“I have participated in both Pan India and Himalayan bike rallies but this is my first visit to Bhaderwah and must confess that this is the best ride I ever had. We have just entered Bhaderwah valley but this has got all the ingredients to become heaven for adventure lovers and ultimate destination for biking enthusiasts, every biker should surely visit here at least once in life time”, said Sanjeet Singh of Chandigarh based biker group.
“This is a wonderful off-road experience, every biker would love to explore, this is adventure heaven for riders and I think every biking enthusiast apart from Ladakh should come to this side as well”, said Ranjit, another biker.
Bhaderwah town with its picturesque surroundings, high altitude meadows and snow filled glaciers has become a major tourist attraction. Every day hundreds of visitors including domestic and foreign tourists visit Bhaderwah. According to the figures issued by BDA, more than 5 lakh tourists including pilgrims visited Bhaderwah valley since May this year.
