JAMMU, Aug 3: Jammu and Kashmir Police here today seized 20 bundles of banned Chinese strings (Gattu).
A police spokesperson said that an information was received at Police Station Janipur regarding the sale of banned synthetic threads.
On this, he said, a special team of Police Station Janipur under the supervision of SDPO West, Vikram Singh, was constituted.
The team led by SHO Janipur, Inspector Sikandar Singh, rounded up an accused at Jagi Darbar, Janipur, Jammu, and seized from his vehicle 20 bundles of Chinese strings.
The accused identified as Dhrub Mehra of Shakti Nagar, Jammu, has been booked in case FIR number 79/2023 under section 188 of the IPC registered at Police Station Janipur and further investigation taken up, he said.
