POONCH, Apr 3: About 20 sheep and goats were killed when a leopard attacked a cattle shed at Guntrian in Shahpur area of Poonch district.
Locals said that the leopard was roaming in the area for the last several days and villagers were terrorized with its presence. During the intervening night of April 2 and 3, the leopard attacked and killed about 20 sheep and goats of Mohd Shakoor, a resident of Shahpur village near the Line of Control.
Pertinent to mention here that the leopard had attacked and killed more than 10 sheep and goats few days ago in Mendhar area. The villagers have urged the concerned Wild Life Department officials in Poonch to take appropriate steps to capture the leopard and send back to forests.
