20-day-long Oil Conservation Program of PCRA concludes

JAMMU, May 1: The 20-day-long Oil Conservation Programme which was started by PCRA (Petroleum Conservation Research Association) on April 11, culminated today.
The valedictory function of the programme was held in presence of chief guest, Garib Dass, Inspector General of Police (HQRs) PHQ and other senior officials from Oil Marketing companies.
Speaking on the occasion, Garib Dass emphasized on conserving oil which can also help saving our environment. He appreciated the efforts of Oil Marketing Companies (IOCL/HPCL and BPCL) operating in J&K for creating mass awareness about conservation of Petroleum Products.
The IGP also encouraged the young minds to take initiative and inculcate new ideas to promote the alternative sources of energy which, he said, will decrease our dependency from imported fossil fuels and also lead to healthier environment. Saksham pledge was also administered by IGP along with Oil Marketing Companies officials to all present on the occasion.
Earlier, Anjani Kumar, State Level Co-ordinator Oil Industry, J&K and Ladakh UT briefed the audience about various activities held during 20-day-long Fuel Conservation Drive ‘Saksham 2022’.
Students from different schools and colleges, truck drivers, worship mechanics, house wives, etc who were top performers in various competitions and activities held during the 20-day-long programme were honoured on the occasion.
