20 SRTC buses for Doda-Kishtwar

JAMMU, Apr 16: Former Minister and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohd Saroori said that Transport Minister, Chowdhary Mohd Ramzan today announced that State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) will provide 20 buses to Doda and Kishtwar District with in week’s time.
In a statement issued here, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori said that decision in this regard was taken during his meeting with Transport Minister at Civil Secretariat Jammu which beside him was also attended by the officials of SRTC and Transport Department.
He said that during the course of the meeting, several issues pertaining to Transport Department were discussed including the growing rate of accidents in mountainous Districts of Doda and Kishtwar.
Saroori said that on his request, Transport Minister directed Managing Director SRTC to provide 20 SRTC buses to Doda and Kishtwar Districts in next couple of days, beside directed them to take immediate steps in this regard so that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah could make public announcement in this regard during his visit to Kishtwar District schedule for 18th of this month.
The Minister also directed RTO Jammu to take stern action against the traffic violators, beside to check menace of corruption while issuing the fitness certificates and PSV driving licenses, Saroori said.
He said that Union Transport Minister CP Joshi has assured him to provide funds for installation of crash barriers on Batote-Kishtwar-Sinthan, Thatri-Gandow, Kishtwar-Padder-Sansari and Bandarkoot-Patimhala roads. He said that during the the meeting concerned agencies were directed by the Minister to prepare detailed project report in this regard so that same could submitted to Union Transport Ministry for approval.
