KATHUA, Aug 28: As per the directions of Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kathua Sunil Kumar, a team from RTO office Kathua headed by ARTO Kathua Neeraj Sharma along with MVI Vivek Kumar and other checking staff conducted extensive checking at Tehsil Billawar and its adjoining rural areas.
During the course of checking, approximately 65 vehicles were checked, out of which 20 vehicles were compounded and 13 vehicles were challaned. An amount of Rs 12000 was recovered on spot and expected amount of Rs 86000 is likely to be recovered out of challans.
The team also conducted general awareness camps at villages Dhabi Morh and Mandli, in which the drivers, conductors and general public were sensitized about road safety rules, being good Samaritans and obey rules and regulations.
The drivers were also sensitized to keep their vehicles in fit and roadworthy conditions and carry updated documents with their vehicles.
