JAMMU, Aug 10: A 20-year-old youth was found hanging under mysterious circumstances here today, police said.
They said Banu Kumar son of Jeet Raj of Gho Manhasa was spotted hanging with a tree around 3:45 Pm at Mahavir Basti area near Hanuman Temple, Ring Road, Pouni Chak.
He was taken to Government Medical College Jammu where he was declared as dead on arrival, police said.
The body of the deceased youth has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem while inquest proceedings have been initiated to ascertain the reasons behind his mysterious death.
