200 solar lights stolen

JAMMU, Apr 25: Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JKEDA) today claimed that its 200 solar lights having value running into several lakhs have been stolen by the people from Nagseni in Kishtwar district.
SSP Kishtwar Yougal Manhas said they have received complaint from the Agency and registered FIR at Kishtwar police station for investigations.
Reliable reports said that the solar lights were either forcibly taken away by the people or distributed among them but after local MLA and Minister of State for Works and Revenue Sunil Sharma raised objections to their selective distribution, the complaint was registered.
The solar lights are given to the people on subsidized rates. They had been purchased from Constituency Development Fund (CDF) of former Minister Sajjad Kitchloo of National Conference, now MLC.
However, around 200 solar lights were still left for distribution, which had reportedly been taken away by the people.
