200 youth to be employed by TCS

SRINAGAR, Apr 5: To discuss various aspects regarding employability and job opportunities for the unemployed youth through skill development and for further placement in various companies, a meeting of representatives from various multinational companies and faculty of Kashmir University was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Kashmir University, Prof. Talat here today.
Prof. Talat, on the occasion, emphasized to tackle unemployment crisis purposefully by providing ample avenues to youth in private sectors by reaching out to the educated unemployed youth of far flung areas of the State.
He urged the educated unemployed youth to avail the maximum benefits of the opportunities being provided by the various multinational companies in this regard.
He said that to generate employment avenues for youth in bulk various skill development and job oriented courses are being added in the curriculum at various levels by the University.
Prof. Talat said that skill development and enhancement of employability has been flagged as focused area to enable youth to get absorbed in the open job market besides entering into entrepreneurship arena.
Vice President and Global Head, HR Tata Consultancy Services (TCS),  Ranjan Bandyopadhyay and Associate Vice President TCS, Monimoy Das Gupta informed that educated youth were provided employment by their company while 200 youth will be facilitated by the company during the current financial year.
Director Centre for Carrier Planning and Counselling, Prof. Shabir Ahmad was also present on the occasion.
