21 absconders arrested, 52 general warrants executed in 3 months: SSP

REASI, June 28: Twenty one absconders were arrested in the past 24 hours, while 52 general warrants were executed in the last 3 months.
This was informed by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Reasi Shailender Singh while interacting with media persons were today.
SSP said that continuing its drive against criminals who were evading their arrests since years and decades, Reasi Police launched a major strike on them.
“Twenty one absconders were arrested in a series of raids conducted throughout the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir during last 24 hours”, SSP said, adding that Reasi Police has created a national record of highest number of simultaneous arrests of absconding criminals within 24 hours.
SSP informed that different teams were constituted and sent to different parts of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir zone, adding that tasks were assigned to Gazetted Officers and NGOs who accomplished well in apprehending the underground criminals hiding in disguise at different places.
Under this drive, 52 general warrants have been executed by arresting 40 absconders in last three months by Reasi Police, SSP said, adding that Additional SP Amit Bhasin and SDPOs Surjeet Bhagat, Dr Khalid Ashraf, Dr Satish Kumar and Kuljeet Singh have kept the teams energized and followed their respective operations till the production of absconders in concerned courts. SHO’s, NGOs and jawans have put their best efforts to achieve this milestone against the criminals, SSP Reasi informed.
ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh and DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Suleman Choudhary have complemented the officers and their teams in Reasi Police and asked them to continue working with same zeal and enthusiasm in curbing down the crime in the district.
