21 bovines rescued

JAMMU, June 20: Twenty-one bovine animals were rescued today by Rajouri police from the clutches of smugglers.
Seven bovines were rescued by a team of police station Dharmsal when the bovines were being smuggled from Bhambla (Sunderbani) to Kashmir in a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration no JK11B-2072 driven by Mohd Mehmood son of Mohd Ismail, resident of Prat (tehsil Sunderbani). Police had registered a case in this connection.
A team of police station Darhal also rescued 6 bovines during naka checking at Rakibain when they were being smuggled to Kashmir from Rajouri in a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK11C-9104 driven by Aiaiz Ahmed son of Abdul Hamied, resident of tehsil Thanamandi (district Rajouri). A case was registered in this connection by Darhal police.
Eight bovines were rescued by some locals at village Sasalkote while some unknown people (2/3 in number) were carrying them towards Kari on foot, without any permission from the authorities. As locals stopped them and enquired about the permission, the accused fled away from the spot. Later, police also reached on the spot and took cognizance of the matter.
