UDHAMPUR, Aug 28: Police team of Police Station Udhampur foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and rescued 21 bovines besides arresting the accused smuggler.
The bovines were being smuggled in a vehicle bearing registration number. JK13E-4142, which was intercepted at Jakhani naka point on Udhampur National Highway.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Amar Dev, son of Sanjiv Dev of Lanka town, Ward number 1 Assam, was arrested. Police rescued all the 21 bovines and seized the vehicle.
In this regard, a case FIR number 365/2024 U/S 223/ BNS 11 PCA Act has been registered in Police Station Udhampur, Further investigation of the case is in progress.
