2,148 pilgrims leave for Amaranth cave shrine from Jammu

JAMMU: A fresh batch of Amarnath pilgrims today left for the holy Amarnath cave shrine from the Bhagwati Nagar, Yatri Niwas, base camp here.
“A total of 2,148 pilgrims, including 1,637 males, 357 females and 10 children, left for the Amarnath cave shrine early this morning in a convoy of 65 vehicles including 51 Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) and 14 Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs),” Police sources said.
The first bus left the base camp at 0410 hrs while the last bus
left at 0440 hrs.
