22 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Oct1: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued 22 animals at Tikri, Udhampur.
The truck carrying bovines was intercepted by a Police party led by SHO Rehambal, Inspector Paramjeet Singh, assisted by SI Pawan Dogra, IC PP Tikri, under the supervision of Zahid Saif Wani DySP Hqrs. Udhampur, during a naka at Tikri, Udhampur.
Noticing the police party, driver of the truck parked his vehicle JK02AK 3037 roadside and fled away from the spot taking advantage of heavy traffic on the road. During the checking, 22 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this vehicle. All the bovine animals were rescued and the vehicle was seized.
In this connection, a case FIR number 141 /2018 U/S 188, RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Rehambal and further investigation is going on.
