DODA, June 22: Police rescued 22 bovines and arrested two smugglers near Pul Doda, here today.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Doda police station laid a naka near Pul Doda and intercepted two trucks bearing registration numbers JK06-4081 and JK06-2696.
During checking, police recovered 22 bovine animals and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Shakeel Ahmed, son of Ghulam Ahmed and Liaqat Ali, son of Ghulam Mohd Khanji, while their third accompliance managed to flee from the spot.
The vehicles used in the smuggling have been seized, while a case under FIR No 150/13 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Doda and investigation started.
