22 bovines rescued, 4 held

JAMMU, Dec 16: Police today rescued 22 bovine animals and arrested four smugglers from Domana and Satwari areas.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Domana Police Station laid a naka at Mandleek Mehra and intercepted two persons, carrying bovine animals.
The duo failed to give satisfactory reply to the police queries and were arrested, he said, adding that the accused have been identified as Mohammad Iqbal, son of Abdul Rashid of Marh and Chattu Gujjar, son of Hussain Gujjar of Gole Gujral.
A total of 18 bovines were rescued, which the accused were trying to smuggle to Valley on foot, he added.
A case FIR number 481/13 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Police Station Domana and manhunt has been launched to arrest the two absconding bovine smugglers, who escaped from the spot after seeing police team.
Police party led by SHO Vijay Choudhary made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Sandeep Mehta.
Meanwhile, Satwari police during naka duty intercepted one Tata mobile bearing registration number JK19-1668.
During search, police rescued 4 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers, who have been identified as Mohammad Shafi, son of Fazal Din and Mohammad Din, son of Mohammad Shafi, both residents of Barnote, Ramban.
A case under FIR number 238/13 under Section 188 RPC, 3 PC Act has been registered at Satwari Police Station and investigation started.
