UDHAMPUR, May 8: Police today rescued 23 bovine animals, which were being smuggled to Kashmir in a truck.
Police intercepted the truck during a naka near Bali nallah and rescued the animals. However, the smugglers managed to give a slip to the police after abandoning the vehicle.
The rescued animals were later shifted to the cattle pond of Municipal Council Udhampur.
Police has registered a case in this regard.
