23 bovine animals rescued

RAJOURI, June 21: The Police in Thanamandi area of Rajouri district foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued twenty three animals from the clutches of smugglers.
Police said that a team, headed by SHO Thanamandi Fareed Ahmed, under the supervision of SDPO Thanamandi Sajjad Khan, was on routine patrolling and naka checking on link road intervening night near Bhangai when the accused smuggler Abdul Haq, son of Hassan Mohammad resident of Kot was intercepted.
The accused was smuggling 23 bovine animals on foot. Police arrested the accused and rescued the animals.
A case FIR number 117/2020, under relevant sections of law has been registered in this connection at Thanamandi Police Station.
