23 bovine rescued, two vehicles seized

JAMMU, Dec 12: Jammu Police has rescued 23 bovine animals being smuggled from different parts of the district.
“During naka checking at Chowki Choura, a team of Police Post Chowki Choura rounded up a vehicle bearing registration number JK02AL-2983 which was on its way from Jammu towards Rajouri,” a Police spokesman said, adding, on search of the vehicle, 8 bovine animals which were being transported without permission were rescued.
Similarly, during naka checking at Zedda, a team of Police Post Manwal rescued 15 bovines from a vehicle bearing registration number JK01AC-0948 which was on its way from Samba towards Udhampur, carrying the bovine animals without valid permission.
In both cases, the concerned police had taken cognizance and seized the vehicles involved in smuggling of the bovines while further investigation into the cases were started.
