23 bovines rescued, 3 smugglers arrested

RAMBAN/UDHAMPUR, June 16: Khari and Tikri police rescued 23 bovine animals and arrested three smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Khari Police Post led by SI Ranjeet Kumar Rao laid a naka and intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration JK18A-4391.
During checking, police team rescued 5 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Bilal Ahmed Paray, son of Habibullah Paray and Aabid Manzoor Ganai, son of Manzoor Ahmed, both residents of District Kulgam.
Meanwhile, a team from Tikri Police Post led by SI Balram Sharma under the supervision of SHO Rehambal Inspector Ajay Bhat, DySP Headquarters Udhampur Dr Rohit Chadgal and Additional SP Udhampur Rajinder Kumar Katoch laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number UP78BT-0378.
Eighteen bovine animals were rescued from the vehicle during checking and the driver identified as Mohammad Israr, son of Mohammad Anwar of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh was arrested on the spot.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Banihal and Rehambal Police Stations and investigation started.
