23 bovines rescued, two vehicles seized

JAMMU, Dec 24: In two separate cases, Jammu Police rescued 23 bovine animals and seized two vehicles involved in smuggling of these bovines.
According to the police reports, a team of Police Station Nagrota during naka duty rescued 17 bovine animals from a vehicle bearing registration number JK02AP-8887 and arrested two accused identified as Mushtaq Ahmed son of Abdul Rashid of Uppar Jakhar (Udhampur) and Mohd Maqbool son of Mohd Bashir of Talwara (Reasi).
In this regard, a case FIR Number 433/2022 u/s 188/IPC 11 PCA Act 52/54/56/Transport of Animal Rule Act was registered at Police Station Nagrota and the vehicle involved in transportation of bovines seized.
Similarly, at another naka near Gulaba, Dori Dagger in the area under the jurisdiction of Police Post Chowki Choura, a police team rescued six bovines from a vehicle bearing registration number JK02CQ-4091. In this regard, an FIR under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and the vehicle involved in the smuggling of bovines seized.
