JAMMU, Apr 11: Forest Department today removed encroachment on 23 kanals of area and also demolished a concrete structure in Gool Range of Ramban Forest Division.
Official sources said that a team of Forest Department led by Range Officer Gool, Sajjad Hussain on the basis of some inputs launched operation and removed illegal encroachment on forest area at Muttgalla, under compartment number 28 and 29 of Gool Range.
DFO Ramban, Anwar Shah said that taking advantage of lockdown over COVID-19, one Mohd Ashraf raised concrete structure at Muttgalla and also grabbed nearly 3 kanals of land which was demolished by Forest team today. The land was also cleared.
Similarly, four people had encroached upon 20 kanals of land in the same area under Compartment No. 29. The team also broken the fence and cleared the area. The accused persons were booked by DFO Ramban under relevant sections of Forest Act.
