JAMMU, Jan 25: On the eve of 66th Republic Day, Government of India has announced President’s Police Medal for Gallantry, Distinguished and Meritorious Services. The awardees include 23 personnel from Jammu and Kashmir Police.
President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service has been awarded to IGP State Vigilance Organization, Alok Puri and IGP Personnel (PHQ) Arun Kumar Choudhary.
Awardees of President’s Police Medal for Gallantry are DySPs, Mashkoor Ahmed and Feroz Ahmed, ASI Vinod Kumar and Head Constable Imtiyaz Mohammad.
President’s Police Medals for Meritorious Service have been awarded to SP Farooq Ahmed Hakim, DySPs, Sheikh Zaffar Ullah, Zahoor Ahmed Bhat, Rashid Ahmed Mir, Surinder Kumar Sharma, Tejinder Singh, Mohammad Shafi Dar and Mohammad Farooq Reshi, Inspectors Manoj Kumar, Mir Javaid Ahmed, Siraj-ud-Din and Yash Paul Singh, Sub Inspectors Mohammad Saleem Khan, Abdul Ahad Dar and Ghulam Ali Ahangar, Head Constables Mohammad Afzal Khan and Shabir Ahmed Khawaja.
Director General of Police, K. Rajendra Kumar, congratulating the awarded personnel, has stressed upon them to rededicate for public service. He said that the contribution of the Organisation at various fronts of policing has been recognised at national level and all ranks of the force are committed to deliver better to the nation.
Meanwhile, the Government today announced Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medals for Meritorious and Gallantry Services to 30 personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police for their meritorious services during 2014. The medals are awarded on the eve of Republic Day every year.
Officers awarded Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Service include Additional Director General of Police (MD JK Police Housing Corporation), Dilbag Singh, IGP (Kashmir Zone), A. G. Mir, DIG, Armed Kashmir, M. M. Sadiq and ASI Balbir Singh Choudhary.
Awardees of Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry are Superintendents of Police, Imtiyaz Ismail Parray, Tejinder Singh, Maqsood-ul-Zaman and Shoket Hussain, Dy. Superintendents of Police, Parvez Ahmad Dar, Zahid Ahmad Lone, Tariq Ahmed Wani, Farooq Ahmed and Baljit Singh and Inspector Riyaz Ahmed Langoo.
Sub-Inspectors Mohammad Saleem, Jazib Mohammad Bhat, Javaid Ahmed Dar, Saqib Bashir Wani, Salfi Arshid Bangroo and Sheikh Manzoor Ahmed and Head Constables Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din and Nazir Ahmed Mir.
Constables Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Basharat Rasool Shah, Sudesh Singh, Mohammad Maqbool, Amit Raina, Manzoor Ahmed Malik, Mohammad Arif and Shabir Ahmed.
